Three Day Tuna Diet
The significance of the three day diet is increasingly becoming popular because it includes sufficient amount of fish in the diet, which combined with fruits gives the correct combination to encourage additional metabolic activities to take place in your body and as a result lose weight.
The three day diet plan encourages the use of fish and amongst the most commonly used fish in this diet is tuna. Fish is mostly known to contain omega-3 fatty acids and tuna is known to have plenty of it. Hence even a pregnant lady can follow the three day diet plan. Since the consumption of tuna is not only good for her but also her baby too, since omega-3 fatty acids are very much required for a fetus. Omega-3 fatty acids aids the proper growth of the fetus in it's mother's womb and no other natural substance can provide this acid in abundance than tuna.
It's not difficult to have tuna and subsequently not difficult to follow this diet. It's believed that expectant mothers having tuna in the later stage of their pregnancy tend to give more intelligence to their children.
Studies have found that out of 109 new borns tested out, the umbilical cords of the mothers of these infants were found to be rich in docosahexaenoic acid, an omega-3 fatty acid and when these infants were taken for eye and brain tests at six and eleven months respectively, they are found to have an high IQ.
DHA, one particular kind of omega-3 fatty acid is found in fishes like tuna, salmon and sardines and pregnant women are encouraged to have 300 milligrams of this acid everyday to encourage high fetal brain activity.
It's important for pregnant women to have more of these acids in the third trimester especially since the brain developments is maximized during this period. Dr. Joseph L Jacobson of Wayne University's studies have proved this theory right. Since the amount of DHA in the mother's cord blood and the child's cord blood is found to the same at the time of the infant's birth.
Americans are found to have less of fish and more of meat, hence this doctor and scientist encourages pregnant women to have more of this acid, basically more of fishes like tuna, salmon and sardines in the third trimester to boost high intellectual development in the fetus.
People living in Quebec, Canada are known to have lot of tuna, salmon etc and hence their infants have been tested and found to be more intelligent. Algae derived supplements and fish oil tablets are also found to encourage fetal brain activity but this has all to be tried out only after consulting the obstetrician first.
